Certificates of Registration Status (CRS) / Certificates of Good Standing (COGS)

Applying for registration in NSW

When applying for most forms of registration in NSW, a Certificate of Registration Status or Certificate of Good Standing from each jurisdiction in which the practitioner has practised or held registration in the past 5 years is required. The certificates must be:

  • Issued within the previous 3 months as evidenced by a date
  • Sent directly to the Board from the issuing registering authority. Faxed copies are only accepted if faxed directly from the issuing registering authority with a cover sheet included. Faxes from other parties are not accepted

Requesting a Certificate of Registration Status from the NSW Medical Board to be forwarded to other Registering authorities

The NSW Medical Board will issue a Certificate of Registration Status as follows:

  • The request for a Certificate should be made in writing to the Board with the required payment. Please use the Request for Certificate of Registration Status form.
  • The Certificate of Registration Status will only be issued directly to the requesting authority. A copy will not be issued to the requesting doctor or any other party.
  • A receipt and a letter confirming that the Certificate has been sent will be forwarded to the requesting doctor.
