National registration

From 1 July 2010, the Medical Board of Australia will be responsible for all registration matters in NSW and in the other states in accordance with new National Laws; the NSW Medical Board will cease to exist from that date.

From 1 July 2010, complaint, performance, conduct and health matters in NSW will be dealt with by the Medical Council of NSW under Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW) which will replace the Medical Practice Act 1992. Under transition arrangements, matters "started but not completed" before 1 July, will be completed under the Medical Practice Act 1992. Complaints received by the NSW Medical Board before the end of June but which have not been considered by the Complaints Assessment Committee by 1 July, will be dealt with under the National Law (NSW)
